The gear shaping machine Lorenz LS 180 was designed as a universal etc. machine for flexible production of gears in the construction equipment, wind turbine gearboxes, machine tools, mining equipment, aircraft, textile machinery. They can be used both for individual production, small batch production as well as for mass production. It is used mainly for cutting spur gears with internal or external teeth. With additional software options, various types can be edited by non-circular gears, grooves and cams. By inserting a sloping guide and corresponding cutter, also helical gears can be encountered. Using special cutter various types of couplings and involute and serrations can be produced.
